Just 3 years young, Erin was an owner turn-in. She has been through at least three homes in her short life. You see, she gets scared during thunderstorms, and her previous owners didn’t know how or didn’t want to deal with that. And the more angry they got, the more anxious Erin became.

Erin

She’s now in a foster home that understands her fears and is working to build her self-confidence. Erin is very unsure of herself and looks to her humans for guidance. She is also very eager to please – she really doesn’t want to be a bad girl at all. She wants to please you and to be loved. She is very highly trainable because of her eagerness to please you. She just needs to have that chance.

In her foster home, Erin has a crate that is her safe spot. Her folks drape it with towels so it’s dark and feels secure, like a cave. Erin loves her crate and will go in there whenever a storm approaches or when she feels unsettled. She doesn’t like the door to be closed, but enjoys going in as she feels the need.

Her foster folks also take her on lots of walks and other adventures, so that she can learn how much fun the world is. She’s relaxing more and more each day as she builds her confidence in herself and in her humans. She has stopped running to her crate at every little sound. She has started to initiate play more often.

Erin loves to play with the other golden in her foster home and with her human family. She is very quiet and mild-mannered, and the more hugs you’ll give her the better! Erin loves being touched and hugged. She’s a very good snuggler, too. All she wants is to be near her people, so she has good house and leash manners, too!

Erin is ready to roll!

We’re looking for just the right home for Erin.

Her forever home will:

  • Be able to have someone home most of the time, or have flexibility to manage schedules during storm season.
  • Have patience, understanding and a willingness to help Erin build self-confidence.
  • Take Erin to obedience classes to help her socialization skills and build her self-confidence.
  • Provide a crate so she has a safe spot to go when she feels anxious.
  • Daily walks and visits to parks and public places – all to help her feel more comfortable in her surroundings and view the world as a happy place, not a scary place.
  • Provide lots of time for snuggling!
