Poor Winnie. At 8 years young, she found herself in need of a new home when her family learned they were losing theirs.

Winnie is such a wonderful lady – she is sweet, smart and everything you could want in a golden! She is completely housebroken and has wonderful manners. She’s fine in her foster home with several other canines and has shown no food or toy possessiveness. She plays nicely with others and is good on leash.
Winnie has some interesting sound effects in her arsenal. Her foster mom says she should have been named Mona, because she moans! She will give off little grunts and moans, that’s just her way of talking to you.

Winnie was shaved when she came to GRRMF – something we do NOT recommend for goldens! This breed has a double coat, which insulates them both against heat AND cold. When you shave a golden, you remove a layer of protection that guards against heat stroke and also skin cancer, among other things. Please read more about why you should NOT shave a golden here!
All Winnie really wants is a new family to love. She is an easygoing gal, a real wash-and-wear kind of golden. All you need to add is love and she’ll be yours forever!
