Nicknamed Maxxy Boy and Maximillian, Max, with his mega-watt smile has transitioned seamlessly over the past year, and his family is head over heels in love with his personality.
The second his mom saw him, she knew he was their dog. There was something about him that made her feel he belonged with their family. As soon as he got into the car, it was kisses all around. He was a loving goofball and seemed just as happy to be with them as they were to be with him. Now, from the moment his parents and their five-year-old son wake up, Max meets them with tail wags and kisses and brings them one of his “babies.”
What makes Max so endearing are: his personality (he really is a happy, loving goofball); his welcome home noises and the toy he brings his parents (he tries to bark and almost howls with a toy in his mouth, which is his mom’s favorite happy sound of his); his bond with them, both as a family and individually; his affinity for kisses – they call them “Max attacks” as he covers everyone in kisses when they sit on the floor with him.
Next to snuggling on the couch, Max’s favorite activity is playing fetch and keep away. He loves when he’s thrown a ball or a squeaky toy, but then he slyly brings it back just out of reach so that someone has to get it from him. He also enjoys car rides. In fact, he’s taken two beach trips with his family, and although he’s not yet a huge fan of the ocean, they’re working on it.
Now that his penchant for counter surfing has been solved, Max is still learning to remain outside of the kitchen during meals and is polishing his leash walking skills to perfection. But, Max’s manners aside, this is one family that is eternally grateful for the “gift” they were given through GRRMF’s adoption program.
