Riley Ajay’s Success Story

Riley Ajay’s Success Story

Riley relishes all of the loving hugs he receives from his remarkably happy family!

His parents were extremely excited when they brought him home 14 months ago to join their other golden Emily. Terribly lonely since unexpectedly losing her doggy sister, stately and sturdy 6 1 / 2 year old Riley was just the tonic she needed. Not to mention two fabulous felines awaiting his arrival with “baited breath.” (They needn’t have fretted: they walk around and over him, and he is very gentle with them).

Despite his easygoing and laidback disposition, Riley was puppyish in his enthusiasm when it came to interacting with Emily.

He played happily and hard with her in the mornings and early afternoons, while in the evenings, being partial to quiet time alone, he would curl up on a corner of one of the sofas to sleep. Then, after Emily passed away, and Cruiser, another, younger golden arrived, Riley began repeating the same daily routine with his energetic new brother. Another of his routines: carrying around a stuffed bear toy that his foster mom had given him.

Happiest being within sight of his parents at all times, he LOVES the copious cuddles and hugs he receives throughout the day, wagging his tall and rolling over on his back for the belly rubs he ADORES. In fact, he lies close to his mom’s feet while she works, simply waiting for the next hug or kiss or short walk! Enviably intelligent and a master at sneaking away toys surreptitiously, Riley also loves chasing lizards (fortunately, he never catches them) and going for multiple daily walks. He even has a next-door neighbor Morky girlfriend, Bella. Despite the difference in their sizes, they run and run, chasing each other and rolling around together in the backyard!

But what Riley loves most are his nightly car rides of 30 to 45 minutes around the Jacksonville area. Come rain or come shine, and regardless of how many walks he has had during the day, he wants a nightly car ride.
