Frequently asked questions (FAQ) about volunteering

We’re a diverse group who love welcoming new faces and talents with fresh ideas into our family of dog lovers.

What are the benefits of volunteering?

  • Knowing that you are helping to save precious retrievers in need.
  • Bringing joy and comfort to our communities.
  • Getting to know other dog lovers.
  • Making a difference.
  • Being a rescue hero!

What can you tell me about the people who volunteer for GRRMF?

Check out our Volunteer Tales.

What are some open positions where you need help?

We always need fosters, transporters and administrative support. Check our volunteer opportunities to see current needs.

After you receive my application, what happens next?

When you submit a volunteer application, a “matching” process begins. Our volunteer coordinator will call you to learn more about your interests, skills, and passions. We will also discuss opportunities to learn through on-the-job training. One of the most important topics of this initial call your availability to make the commitment to a volunteer role. We want to support your critical life balance of family, work and daily needs. Our coordinator will discuss the various roles in rescue with you to find best fit. You are then “matched” with the team coordinator who will answer any additional questions and bring you on board. A very happy day for GRRMF!
